Windscreen repairs are a popular service when your windscreen is cracked or chipped. If the damage to your windscreen is approximately 25 mm in diameter, it can be repaired, so you may not have to have your windscreen replaced.
One of the easiest ways to gauge this is to use a €2 coin, so if the chip on the windscreen is smaller than the coin, we should be able to repair it for you no problem. If the windscreen crack is bigger than this, we recommend you have the windscreen replaced.
Some other factors that may influence the decision to repair or replace your windscreen are:
The position of the chip on the windscreen – ideally this needs to be about 5cm from the edge of the windscreen to enable us to access it properly.
Driver’s line of vision – this is naturally a very important consideration when it comes to auto glass repairs. Even if you think the windscreen repair is suitable for you, we will have to look at the position of the chip.
